Naidu, along with Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar planted a sapling at a Zilla Parishad High School at the village, located on the outskirts of Vijayawada.
He appealed to the people to plant one sapling at least once in a year and asked for their contribution to transform the state into 'Harithandhra Pradesh'.
In order to promote afforestation and environment conservation, the state government would undertake activities on every third Saturday of the month.
