Addressing a press conference, NCP state president Sunil Tatkare said there was no confusion in his party ranks.
"Our ideology, policy is firm and strong. Who are the confused parties is for everyone to see," he said without naming either the Shiv Sena or the BJP.
When asked about Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' comments that talks with Shiv Sena to join the government will begin tomorrow, he said, "We have nothing to do with it."
He said his party will soon meet Fadnavis with a memorandum to demand financial package for drought relief farmers in the state and aid for soyabean and cotton farmers and milk producers.
The memorandum will also raise the issue of its failure to nab culprits of the Javkheda's triple murders.
To a question on former ally Congress deciding to take to streets against the government on these issues, Tatkare said, "We are not concerned what other parties are doing. If the government fails to act through discussions, we will protest."
The NCP leader also said his party will claim Leader of Opposition post in the Legislative Council, where it is the single largest party with 28 members in the 78-member house.
"We will also claim the Legislative Council chairman's post and will give a formal letter during the winter session," he said.
When asked if the party will ask the incumbent chairman and senior Congress leader Shivajirao Deshmukh to resign or bring no-confidence motion against him, Tatkare said, "We have not given a thought to it.
