NDFB ultras nabbed with arms

Two suspected hardcore NDFB insurgents were nabbed by a joint police and army team and assorted arms and ammunition recovered from them in Assam's Kamrup district, police sources said.
On a tip off a joint operation was launched by the police and troops of the 9 Punjab Regiment at Hariandab area under Rangia police station last night, police sources said today.
Four suspected militants riding on a bicycle were proceeding towards neighbouring Nalabari district when the security forces asked them to stop, the sources said.
While two of them escaped, two others identified as Brajen Das and Santuram Das were apprehended with the arms and ammunition, they said.
The arms recovered include an AK-47 rifle, one 7.65 sophisticated pistol, one magazine, two live cartridges, two grenades, one knife, besides some battle fatigues.
Their interrogation is on and operation launched to nab the two others who escaped, the sources added.
