NDTV reports profit of Rs 2.6 crore in Q1
Press Trust of India New Delhi Media firm New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) today reported a standalone profit of Rs 2.6 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The company had reported a standalone loss of Rs 19 crore in the corresponding period last year, NDTV said in a statement.
NDTV's standalone revenue also increased 47 per cent to Rs 117 crore during the April-June quarter as against Rs 80 crore in the same period last fiscal, it added.
"General News continues to be profitable and recorded an EBITDA of Rs 26 crore; an increase of Rs 20 crore compared to the compared to the same period last year," said NDTV.
The company's other channel NDTV Profit/Prime posted a net loss of Rs 11 crore during the quarter, it added.
Shares of NDTV today closed at Rs 87.45 apiece on the BSE, down 4.01 per cent from previous close.
