Metal traders said apart from a pickup in industrial demand at spot markets, strength in select base metals as investors await outcome of the US Federal Reserve meeting later in the day, supported the rise in the metals' prices.
In the national capital, niciel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1,013-1,018 per kg on increased demand from alloy-makers.
Lead ingot and, lead imported rose by Rs 2 to Rs 106 and Rs 107 per kg.
