"Energy is a vast field so systematic data is important. We have been trying to put up data in other sector also," Panagariya said after launching the portal.
Speaking on the sidelines of the energy portal launch function, additional secretary in NITI Aayog Anil Kumar Jain said, "We want to create US Energy Information Administration - EIA like institution in India in the next few years. We have already signed MOU with EIA."
The web portal will host all the data related to energy sector including oil & gas, coal, solar & thermal energy etc from 2005-06, a senior NITI Aayog official said.
