Jharkhand government today issued an order banning 'special darshan' at Baidyanath temple in Deogarh district till the end of month-long 'Shravani Mela', two days after ten devotees were killed in a stampede in the temple town.
Issuing the direction, Chief Minister Raghubar Das asked local administration to arrange all facilities for the 'kanwarias' (devotees) coming to the temple to offer prayers and take help from the civil society and other institutions to regulate management to help the pilgrims, an official release said here.
In another order, the Chief Minister asked to waive off entry fees on vehicles to avoid traffic congestion and that the government would cover the revenue deficit of Deogarh Municipal Corporation.
