The decision was taken at a high-level meeting here, presided over by Chief Secretary A P Padhi, an official statement said today.
While reviewing the process of 'ease of doing business' in Odisha, Padhi has suggested the Labour and ESI Department to expedite the process for notifying the self-certification scheme, it added.
The department has also been asked to simplify the compliance process to Labour and Factories Act as a step for facilitating setting up of more industrial units and creation of more jobs, the statement said.
"At least 12 services under Boiler and Factories Act have been notified under Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012. Out of which, delivery of nine important services have been put online through the e-biz portal," said Director of Factories and Boiler, P C Das.
More power has been delegated to the field officers to resolve issues as they arise, he added.
Das further said that rules have been amended to facilitate 5/10 year term licence renewal and the provision of Third Party Inspection has also been allowed under the Boiler Act, 1923.
Under the new system, inspectors of various departments would have a common programme of inspection to inspect from different aspects on the same day and frequency of inspections could be reduced, he added.
Earlier, the state government had notified around 60 industrial units under the green category, thereby exempting them from the burden of complying with pollution norms, the release said.
