Officers who probed Saradha, Sheena case among CBI medalists

The CBI officers who probed Saradha scam, the high-profile Sheena Bora murder, and corruption case involving a Noida engineer, are among 26 chosen for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Rajiv Singh, a 1993-batch IPS officer of Tripura cadre, has been chosen for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Singh heads the Special Investigation Team probing Saradha scam and its off-shoot chit fund cases.
Lata Manoj Kumar, a 2000-batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre, emerged as first choice to probe high profile Sheena Bora murder case. Kumar, who joined CBI last year in April, has been chosen for Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Her batchmate Umesh Chander Datta also from Rajasthan cadre, involved in investigating Sunped incident in which two Dalit infants were killed and the mysterious death of IAS D K Ravi has also been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
N M Singh, DIG with Special Task Force of the CBI, is a direct recruit to the agency who is handling complex corruption case involving a Noida Engineer. Singh has been chosen for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Other officers chosen for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service include Joint Director Anurag Garg, Additional SPs S S Kishore and Sanjay Kewalkrishan Sareen and Deputy SP Sandip Ghosh.

Besides Kumar and Datta, the officers selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service include DIGs Manish Kumar Sinha, V Chandrasekhar, Additional SP Shah Nawaz Khan, Deputy SPs N R Thakur, M T Mang, Alok Kumar, Inspectors Ram Prakash Sharma, D J Bajpei, Sub-Inspector Arun Kumar Shukla, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Wasan Singh, Rajeshwar Singh Rana, Perumal Ramakrishnan, Head Constables Narpat Singh, Subhash Chandra, Head Constable, Constables Champa Devi, Office Superintendent Rajinder Singh, Crime Assistant Arjun Prasad, and Constable Raj Kumar.
