Omar bats for reopening of more LoC roads in J-K

"Mirwaiz has said nothing new which has not been raised in the past. It was part of the four-point formula of Gen eral Parvez Musharaf --making LoC irrelevant," Omar told reporters here on the sidelines of a function.

Omar was replying to the question on the separatist leader's batting for making LoC irrelevant between India and Pakistan during his current visit to Pakistan recently.

The leader asked the leadership of both the countries to fully open the LoC for travel and trade to give impetus to the peace process.

"Earlier, Farooq Abdullah has said that LoC should be made permanent border to make these irrelevent so that people can easily travel on two sides," he said.

Replying to another query about the avalanche that struck Saichen glacier sector, the chief minister said that disaster relief units have been activated in this regard.
