Extra police personnel were rushed to Nasirpur village where the violence took place, SP (City) Rakesh Kumar Singh said in the morning.
The clash allegedly started over an overflowing drain and members of two communities attacked each other with firearms and stones, police said.
One person, identified as 22-year-old Akash, was killed due to bullet injuries and six others were injured, the police said.
In the evening, when the victim's body reached his village from the hospital, some people became violent and tried to set afire a tractor of the accused, the police said.
Assistant SP Mangilal Patidar told PTI that a case has been registered against six people and three of them have been arrested in connection with last evening's violence.
