24-year-old Pradeep Shukla, a Lieutenant Commander and posted in Visakhapatnam, who came to Kanpur to attend his elder brother's marriage, was returning to Allahabad in his car with his younger brother Kuldeep (21), three nieces Ritu (18), Akansha (20) and Ayushi when the mishap occurred.
After attending the marriage, Pradeep was tired and fell asleep while driving the car, which then hit the road divider on Sarsaul flyover, the official said.
Pradeep died on the spot, while four others were taken to a nearby hospital.
