Gumla superintendent of police, Bheemsen Tuti today said the explosive material was found yesterday evening some distance away from the house of CPI(Maoists) 'sub-zonal commander' Prasad Lakra at Hesag village under Raidih police station.
Lakra was arrested by police two days ago.
Tuti said the explosive was concealed in a container, which was seized following a lead provided by Lakra during his interrogation by the police.
The explosive was sent for testing to ascertain its composition which would help the police to understand what chemicals were being used by the ultras to prepare explosives, he added.
