Pakistan's former captain Javed Miandad has said that he is ever ready to serve the nation in any capacity despite his reservations over the policies of the PCB.
Speaking on the Geo Super channel, Miandad however said if the PCB had offered him to be its nominee for the ICC Presidency he would have rejected it.
"It is just an honorary position and nothing else and one can't do any service to cricket without powers," he said.
"I think the PCB has also wasted the experience of a great player like Zaheer Abbas by sending him to the ICC for a honorary post," Miandad said.
The former batsman said that the PCB should put aside all personal grievances and try to get the best former players to work for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
"My whole life is dedicated for Pakistan cricket and even now it is my ambition to be able to coach and teach youngsters and make them better players," he added.
Miandad, who remained coach of the national team three times, said he had got coaching offers from many countries but had always rejected them because he was only interested in doing something for Pakistan cricket.
"Whatever I am today is because of Pakistan cricket and I want to give something back," he added.
He also felt that the national team, more than a professional coach, needed a mentor and better players.
"The sort of culture we have in our cricket it would be better for us to have an advisor or mentor instead of just a coach or coaches," he stated.
Miandad, who celebrated his 58th birthday yesterday, made it clear he had no personal agenda or grievances with anyone in the board.
"I don't want to see Pakistan cricket end up like what happened in hockey," he said.
