The Opposition in Jharkhand has become frustrated and it has lost confidence in democracy as it believes in disruption than debate, BJP state unit spokesman Praveen Prabhakar today alleged.
Prabhakar accused the Opposition of conspiracy through disruption of the question-answer session on Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act and Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act (CNT/SPT) by BJP leader J B Tubid in Chaibasa yesterday, a party press release said here.
Condemning the alleged disruptive tactics of five to seven people during the session, Prabhakar said the Opposition feared if the people understood the benefits of the amendment of CNT/SPT Acts, they would lose ground.
Tubid's intention was to clear doubts in the minds of the people through the Q&A, but the Opposition allegedly sent some people to disrupt the meeting, Prabhakar said claiming it was clearly visible that only five to seven people had disrupted the programme and did not allow anyone to speak.
"If the Opposition has courage, it should come forward and debate on the issue. Even in the (Monsoon Session) Assembly the Opposition did not allow discussion by disrupting the House. Even in Parliament the Opposition is disrupting on the issue of ban on currencies and not allowing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to say," Prabhakar said adding, even President Pranab Mukherjee had commented on the opposition role.
Stating that the Opposition had been unable to get people's support on the CNT/SPT issues, Prabhakar cited how the two recent statewide shutdowns flopped and the people were with the steps taken by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
Condemning the incident, another BJP spokesman Deendayal Barnwal said the state government was taking steps in the interest of the tribals and natives.
