"Over one lakh devotees had darshan on the auspicous occassion," E A Rajan, member of Cochin Devaswom Board, which administers the temple, said.
The temple is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site, located 16 km away from here.
Chottanikara Makom Thozhal (Devi Darshan) is celebrated annually in the Malayalam month of Kumbham.
It is believed that Goddess Bhagavathy in her full attire gave darshan to Vilwamangalam Swamiyar, a saint, on the Makom day and appears on the same day every year for giving darshan to the devotees in her special appearance.
