An inmate of the girl's hostel, where CCTV cameras were found installed three days ago, today claimed that her laptop was "fraudulently given to the police" by the hostel owner instead of the one used by the management.
Police had seized the laptop which was provided by the hostel owner Shalu Satija, who claimed that the cameras were being operated with that laptop.
The girl, with her father Omprakash, today appeared before Bharatpur Collector Neeraj K Pawan and alleged that the hostel owner "fraudulently gave her laptop to the police instead of the laptop of the hostel management".
The girl claimed that she was not present in the hostel when the Collector conducted a sudden inspection last week and found the cameras installed near the bathroom.
Girl's father also said that she was at home in Kota when the laptop was handed over.
The Collector then asked the police to record the girl's statement, sources said.
"If the fact is found to be true, another case will be registered against the hostel owner," SP Bharatpur Anshuman Bhomia said.
The laptop was to be examined by experts in the presence of senior officers to ascertain whether any video of bathroom was shot or misused but before that, the development took place, they said.
Hostel owner Shalu Satija was booked under Section 354 of IPC (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
Shalu along with her husband Pankaj was running the hostel, SHO Mathura Gate, Virendra Kumar Sharma said.
