Parliament condoles death of BSF personnel in plane crash

Parliament today mourned the death of 10 BSF personnel in a plane crash in South West Delhi on Tuesday.
As a mark of respect for the departed, members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha stood in silence for a brief while.
In the Rajya Sabha, Chairman Hamid Ansari mentioned the crash of BSF's Super King aircraft crashing at Dwarka area near the IGI airport here yesterday morning, killing all 10 onboard people and injuring some working near the site.
The House expressed heartfelt condolence and sympathy for the dead and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
In the Lower House, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan expressed deep condolence over the death of BSF personnel in the crash.
Ansari also mentioned of the passing away of former member Bir Bhadra Pratap Singh on December 19 at the age of 84 years.
An advocate by profession, Singh represented the state of Uttar Pradesh in the Upper House from April 1984 to April 1990.
"In the passing away of Bir Bhadra Pratap Singh, the country has lost a veteran freedom fighter and an able parliamentarian," Ansari said deeply mourning his death.
In Lok Sabha, Mahajan expressed condolence over the death of former member and Union Minister K Gopal in August at the age of 81 years. He was from Tamil Nadu.
