Several organisations including women activists had alleged that this was an organised crime and needed a thoroughprobe as it would be a threat to privacy of women studying incampus, City police commissionerChandra Sekhar said.
There were also reports suggesting the involvement of influential persons due to which case registered against the accused was under minor sections of IPC which helped him get bail easily.
The police would discuss with those who have made the allegations and if they were found true, action would be initiated on the people concerned, Chandra Sekhar said. The sensational case, which is being investigated by Mangaluru Police relates to a mobile camera being concealed in the ladies toilet at the university campus to capture videos.
