Station Officer (Majhola) Surender Pal Singh Yadav was sent to police lines and a magisterial enquiry has been initiated on the complaint of the couple, they said.
According to the complaint, Veebha Malik, a pathologist, and her paediatrician husband Yogender Kumar Poonia from Moradabad were passing National Highway 24 when they received a phone call from their daughter.
Poonia stopped the car on the side and was talking over the phone when Yadav stopped his jeep and started enquiring them which led to a quarrel.
Malik claimed that a complaint was registered only after the intervention of DIG Amarinder Singh Sengar.
DIG Sengar said Yadav had been attached to police lines and Additional District Magistrate (City) Praveen Mishra has been deputed to investigate into the matter.
Meanwhile, Indian Medical Association (IMA) President of Moradabad, Dr Archana Aggarwala, has warned the administration that all doctors will go on strike from tomorrow if no action is taken.
