Police said two personnel each had been posted at the residences of three MLAs in Tirupur.
A larger number of people staged agitations in Perumanallur and Pichampalayam against AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala and sought the presence of MLAs, who are in Chennai, to redress their grievances, particularly water problem.
They blamed Sasikala for their constituency MLAs and also the district party Secretaries staying put in Chennai.
Gandhipuram AIADMK Area Secretary Srinivasan lodged a complaint with City Police Commissioner that eight party MLAs were missing since one week.

Meanwhile reports from Pudukottai said, a large number of AIADMK cadres and locals of Kandharvakottai gathered at the office of MLA Arumagam to submit a memorandum urging him to support O Panneerselvam alone.
As the MLA was not present they had dropped the memorandum into his office through the window.
