Prime accused in cop's murder case held

The prime accused in the murder case of station Incharge of Jurawanpur police station Anil Kumar and another man last week, was arrested today from Vaishali district, police said.
Acting on a tip off, the police intercepted a speeding three-wheeler on the Gandhi Setu (bridge) and arrested Srikant Rai, Superintendent of Police (SP) Suresh Kumar Chaudhary said.
Rai and his supporters had shot dead Jurawanpur police station's Officer In-Charge and another person Sudhir Kumar in the police station premises on January 2 last while the slain cop was brokering truce between the prime accused and others over a property dispute, he said.

An FIR was lodged against Rai, a former Mukhiya himself and others in connection with the murder of a cop and another person and he had been on the run since then, Chaudhary said.
Raids were being carried out to nab three other accused, the SP said.
