The organiser of the protest in Gopal Bagh area of Kosi Kalan claimed that over half-a-dozen activists were injured in the police action.
The protesters demanded that illegal transportation of cows from the area to Aligarh slaughter house be stopped and vowed to continue their protest.
Police, however, said there was no lathicharge on the demonstrators. "There was no lathicharge... Police are already taking action to prevent illegal transportation of cows for slaughter," Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Kumar Srivastava said.
