"Punjab police is fully capable and confident to meet any challenge. We have been making best efforts to maintain peace in the region," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function to pay tribute to martyrs at Punjab Armed Police campus on the occasion of police memorial day.
On being asked about the alleged use of social networking website by pro-khalistan supporters to propagate terrorism, he said, "we are keeping a close watch on such sites."
"We are going to start a rural response system to curb the crime graph in rural belts," Saini said.
