An indication to this effect was given by K Raju, chairman of the AICC SC department and an associate of Gandhi.
He said that if formed, such a Council could mainly consist of members of the Congress Working Committee.
Such an advisory body would have no conflict of interest with the CWC which would continue to be the apex policy making body of the party, Raju added.
After the debacle in the Assembly polls in four states, many leaders have underlined the need for the Congress to set its house in order.
There has been no word so far when a meeting of the Congress Working Committee is being held. Talk of a 'Chintan Shivir' being held soon is also being heard.
