Railways announces solatium

Railway Ministry today announced a solatium of Rs two lakh to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 to those critically injured in the derailing of Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express at Sitheri, about 90 km from here this morning.
Those with minor injuries would be given a solatium of Rs 10,000, Minister of State for Railways K J Surya Prakash Reddy told reporters here, before leaving for the accident spot.
One person was killed and 33 others injured when 11 bogies of the Bangalore bound Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express derailed at Sitheri around 0550 hours today.
