Rains in parts of Raj, Sriganganagar sizzles at 40.9 deg C

Rains continued to lash parts of Rajasthan today, even as Sriganganagar was the hottest place in the state at 40.9 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in Bharatpur division of the state, whereas light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places in Kota division and at a few places in Udaipur, and at isolated places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner, the MeT Department here said.
Dholpur recorded 7 cm of rainfall followed by 5 cm in Pirawa, 4 cm each in Rupbas, Aklera, Atru, Sapotra and Manohar Thana areas.
The weatherman has predicted rainfall/thunderstorm with to occur at a few places in the eastern and at isolated places in the western parts of the state.
Churu recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, while the mercury in Bikaner settled at 38.5 degrees Celsius.
Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Barmer and Pilani recorded their maximums at 35.6, 38.1, 37.2 and 37.1 degrees Celsius respectively.
