Rains lash UP;MeT forecasts very heavy rainfall in next 48 hrs

Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers lashed several parts of Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours with south-west monsoon remaining active over the state.
The chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was Karchana 13, Hardoi 11, Mohammadi, Shahjahanpur 9 each, Rasra, Fatehgarh, Dalmau, Auriyya, Anoopsahar 7 each, Fatehgarh, Aligarh, Sikanderabad, Sikhoabad, Orai and Karhal 6 each, according to the Met department here.
Rain or thundershowers would occur at most places over eastern Uttar Pradesh and at many places over western parts of the state tomorrow, it said.
The MeT department predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state over the next two days.
