"Please don't compare us with you guys. You people have a much tougher job of protecting the nation. I am blessed that I am speaking to you people. Rather than us being mobbed by people, it's you people who should be mobbed," Gambhir said and instantly got a warm round of applause from the jawans.
The biggest cheer was, however, reserved for Brett Lee, who in his signature Hindi said, "Namaskar, aap kaise ho? (Hello, how are you??)" and then recited two lines from his duet with Asha Bhosle, "Main tumhara hoon, tumhara hi rahoonga".
Yusuf Pathan would certainly look to end his run-drought after an innocuous question from one of the jawans during their visit to CRPF headquarters.
When the floor was thrown open for jawans to ask questions, one of them asked, "Yusuf ji, Kaafi arsaa ho gaya aapke bat se chauke, chakke dekhe huye. Hum yeh janna chahenge ki kab aap phirse run banayenge (Yusuf, it's been ages since we have seen you hit sixes and fours. When would we see you again hitting the big shots??) and poor Yusuf could only blabber, "Bahut jald" (very soon) even as lot of people found it difficult to suppress their grins.
The owners of Delhi Daredevils have got the maximum number of World Cup champion cricketers in their payrolls in different capacities -- U-15 World Cup champion Ishan Ganda (1995), U-19's Unmukt Chand (2012), Irfan Pathan, World T20 (2007), Virender Sehwag, (World T20, 2007 and World Cup, 2011), Ashish Nehra (2011 World Cup), Sunil Valson (1983 World Cup) and the one and only Sir Vivian Richards (1975 and 1979).
With so many champions in their ranks, the Daredevils would certainly aim for a better show.
