Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today exuded confidence of repeating BJP's Lok Sabha feat in 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
The senior BJP leader also accused the opposition parties of indulging in "negative" propaganda against the Central government.
Addressing the workers meet on the eve of the beginning of Hindu New Year Vikram Samvat, Rajnath said that political parties, which received beating in Lok Sabha elections last year, were indulging into a "negative" propaganda against the central government.
He claimed that BJP will win the UP Assembly polls.
The Union Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government was working on long-term policies, whose results would be visible soon.
Referring to the protests by the opposition parties on Land Acquisition Bill Rajnath said, "We have to reply strongly to the negative propaganda of the opposition."
"Modi government is committed to safeguard the interest of the farmers at any cost. The real picture will soon emerge before the people. Along with the cities, we want development of villages therefore we are framing long term policies," he added.
Claiming that the Centre was alert on the issue of internal and external security, Rajnath said that incidents of terror in north-east have reduced considerably.
Meanwhile, BJP President Amit Shah said in Bulandshahr that the party workers of UP first created a milestone in Lok Sabha elections and now in membership campaign.
Addressing party workers in a joint membership campaign, Shah asked the workers to make the party victorious in 2017 UP polls and said he was confident that UP will achieve the target of enrolling two crore members.
