"I urged visionary Prime Minister Modiji and (HRD Minister) Smriti Irani for steps to reduce the weight of bags carried by school children at the age of two-and-a-half years," Chouhan said.
The chief minister was speaking at the second convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) here, where President Pranab Mukherjee was present as the Chief Guest.
Chouhan also said on the occasion that steps should be taken to ensure that children learn in a natural manner.
