"The works will begin on June 5 with the performance of Maha Sudarshana Homa," Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, P Dhanapal said here today.
The temple will be consecrated as per Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's order as 12 years have been completed since its last consecration in 2001, he said in a statement.
The temple, located in sprawling 156 acres, on the banks of River Kaveri in Tiruchirappali district is among the very ancient temples of the state.
