The one-man commission of inquiry, which is probing the incidents of violence during the Jallikattu (bull-taming sport)protests in the state in 2017, today said it will take another year to submit its report.
The panel headed by retired judge Madras High Court Judge, S Rajeswaran told reporters here that summons have been issued to 18 people including former MLA Arumughan, principals of private colleges, railway staff and doctors.
As about 900 people are to be inquired in Madurai, it would take another year to submit the report, he added.
The Tamil Nadu government had on January 31, 2017 announced a Commission of Inquiry to go into the circumstances leading to the violence during the pro-Jallikattu stir at the Marina beach in Chennai and elsewhere in the state and the alleged police excesses.
