The resolution was submitted by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf member Taimur Masood.
It said all cable network in the country is running Doreamon cartoon round-the-clock and it is leaving a 'bad impact' on children.
Doreamon is a popular animated Japanese series.
The resolution asks Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to ban cartoon channels in general, and Doraemon in particular. The resolution also suggests limiting the hours of cartoon channels.
"Cartoon channels are having a negative impact on the educational and physical well-being of children," the resolution said, which is likely to be discussed in the next assembly session.
The resolutionhasdemanded the House to take up the matter with Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and directs it to immediately ban the cartoon programme.
