Revision of photo electoral rolls to commence on Oct 15

Arrangement has been made by the Department of Elections here to launch "special summary revision of photo electoral rolls" relating to all the 30 assembly constituencies in the Union Territory.
In keeping with the directives of Election Commission of India, the revision would commence with the publication of draft electoral rolls on October 15, Chief Electoral Officer of Puducherry T Sreekanth said in a release here today.
The department's arrangements include special campaign with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections on October 19 and November 2, 2014.
Sreekanth said the claims and objections would be disposed by November 20, 2014. The updating of the database merging the photographs, updating of the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list would be done by November 20.

The department has slated the final publication of electoral rolls on January 5, 2015.
