Robbers' gang busted, five held

Acting on a tip-off, the miscreants were arrested when they were planning a robbery at local Army ground last night, they said.

Police also impounded the car in which the accused were travelling. However, two of them managed to flee under the cover of darkness.

Two country-made pistols along with two live cartridges, and two knives were recovered from their possession, police said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused while the further probes are on, they added.
