Rs 10 lakh in cash found from trader in Bihar

The Government Railway Police (GRP) today recovered Rs 10 lakh cash from a 'zarda' (chewing tobacco) trader at Khagaria railway station.
Acting on tip off, GRP personnel recovered the money from the possession of Ghanshyam Bhagat who had reached the station to catch Rajrani Superfast train for Patna.
Of the Rs 10 lakh found from him, Rs one lakh was in the denomination of Rs 2,000 while the remaining amount was in denominations of Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 20, Rs 10.
The trader informed the GRP that he was carrying the cash to make payment to wholesalers in Patna, the SHO said, adding the Income Tax officials have been intimated in this regard.

I-T Department officials would now investigate whether the said amount was accounted or unaccounted money, or whether it was in accordance with the books.
