Senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy today paid tributes to the six people who had been killed in serial blasts at Gandhi Maidan on October 27 last year ahead of a rally addressed by Narendra Modi.
"We pay our deepest condolences to all those who died in the serial bomb blasts in and around Gandhi Maidan in Patna. We also thank God for protecting Modi from the jaws of those who wanted to harm him," he said in a statement a day ahead of first anniversary of the Gandhi Maidan serial blast.
Conveying condolences to the next of kin of those who perished in the serial blasts, Rudi vowed, "We will fight terror across the country and the world."
He praised Prime Minister Modi of having then risked his life by proceeding with his debut rally in Bihar despite the explosions at the venue.
"We remember strength, determination and conviction of Modi who dared to proceed from Patna Airport to Gandhi Maidan virtually unprotected while the serial blasts were taking place in and around Gandhi Maidan recklessly," the BJP national general secretary said.
Rudy also took potshots at the JD(U) government in Bihar for the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar and said that former chief minister Nitish Kumar has gone back from his commitment to the people to ensure peace by aligning with RJD responsible for the 'jungle raj' in Bihar.
The senior BJP leader said that having won the assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana, the BJP was now headed for electoral victory in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir, where polls will be held over the next two months.
Bihar too will witness assembly polls next year, Rudy said and hinted at his party's resolve to extend its gain in the crucial state too.
The senior BJP leader said at a time when Modi addresses a combined strength of 336 NDA MPs with lone majority of 282 BJP MPs, the day of sacrifice for those who were killed in the Patna bomb blasts needed to be recalled.
