Santhali and Regional Film Festival on April 12

All India Santhali Film Association (AISFA) today decided to host the 6th edition of Santali and Regional Film Festival-cum-Cine Award function from April 12 here.
The president of AISFA, Ramesh Hansdah said over 14 Santali, Ho, Nagpuri, Kurmali and other regional language movies would be screened in the week-long festival.
Besides, some documentary and short films would be part of the festival, which would conclude on April 18 at Gopal Maidan here, he said adding Rs 2.50 lakh would be given to the winners.
Hansdah said the core committee of the Association would finalise the nominees of the Life Time achievement and special awards.

Addressing a press conference here, Hansdah regretted the state government had not taken any step to support the festival as yet, whereas the festival played a key role in conserving the art and culture as well as languages of the tribal community and employment opportunities.
