Sarv Sena Trust tenders unconditional apology to court

The Meghalaya High Court has accepted an unconditional apology from Lucknow-based Sarv Seva Trust and its founder Girish Narain Pande for writing to the Chief Justice wanting to know if the Constitution could be translated into other languages and made mandatory in schools.
Pande was also directed to withdraw the letter, addressed to the constitutional functionaries of the judiciary, within one week.
"We are satisfied with the explanation given by Girish Narain Pande and thus accept his unconditional apology," a division bench, headed by Chief Justice Uma Nath Singh and comprising of Justice T N K Singh, said in an order today.

During the hearing yesterday, Pande filed an affidavit stating that the letter had been addressed to the judicial constitutional authorities by mistake.
