Sharan appointed Sports Secretary

Senior IAS officer Ajit M Sharan has been appointed as Sports Secretary.
Sharan is a 1979 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre.
The vacancy was necessitated by the superannuation of P K Deb, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre.
The government has canceled Sharan's earlier appointment as Member-Secretary, National Commission for Women here and gave him the new posting, according to an official release issued today.
Harbhajan Singh, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Director General, National Productivity Council under the Ministry of Commerce.
Singh, who is working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, has been appointed in the pay of Additional Secretary.

The government has canceled the order of the appointment of B Vijayan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, as Director General, National Productivity Council and debarment of the officer from central deputation till his date of retirement, i.E. Till September, 2014.
