sent to the police lines today hours after a woman accused him of trying to outrage her modesty at a hotel here.
Superintendent of Police(SP) Jayant Kant said the SHO of Pirbhor police station, Rahmat Ali, was sent to police lines on the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amrit Raj.
An investigation has been ordered into the allegation against the SHO, he said.
The woman, who works for an insurance company, has accused Ali of attempting to outrage her modesty after asking her to meet him at a hotel last night to discuss an insurance scheme.
The victim has lodged a complaint with the police helpline as well.
