Additional District and Sessions judge -IV Ajit Kumar Sinha convicted the six accused persons to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on each of them after finding them guilty in the murder case of an advocate Sadan Singh at a Matth (temple property) in Gokulpur village under Biharsharif police station area on March 12, 1987.
The convicted persons are : Bangali Chaudhary, Ramji Manjhi, Shivbalak Ram, Banke Chaudhary, Ramvriksha Yadav and Sita Yadav.
As many as eight persons were booked in the murder case of which two of them - Jamun Manjhi and Shivkumar Manjhi - died during trial of the murder case.
The accused persons had shot dead Singh following a dispute over landed property belonging to the Math and dumped his body near the residence of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), according to prosecution, all eight persons were booked in the advocate's murder case.
