SJVN declares Rs 1137.57 cr as total dividend

Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVNL) today said it has declared total dividend of Rs 1,137.57 crore for 2016-17.
The company paid Rs 733.32 to the central government as its share for holding 64.5 per cent equity in the company.
Out of total dividend of Rs 733.32, an amount of Rs 599.99 crore had already been paid as interim dividend to the union government and the cheque of remaining amount of Rs 133.33 crores as final dividend was presented to Union Power minister R K Singh by R N Mishra, chairman-cum-Managing director of the Company today.
Last year SJVN paid a total dividend of Rs 455.03 crore.
Misra informed the minister that against the MoU target of generation of 8700 Million Units of electricity from its power stations, SJVN has generated 9045 million units during the financial year 2016-17.
"Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India's largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal whileother projects included412 MW Rampur HE Project in Himachal, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra and 5.25 MW Charnakha Solar Power Plant in Gujarat are already in operation.
"SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 1964.6 MW of electricity, Mithra said.
