SJVN records 28% rise in net profit in Oct-Dec

State-run power producer SJVN today reported 28.2 per cent rise is standalone net profit at Rs 270.60 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 on healthy increase in revenue.
The company's net profit in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal was Rs 210.93 crore, it said in a regulatory filing to BSE.
Total revenue from operations went up to Rs 546.79 crore, registering an increase of 41.1 per cent over the year-ago period. Its total revenue from operations was Rs 387.44 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The PSU's gross energy generation during the quarter increased to 1,173.47 million units (MU), over 1,069.79 MU over a year-ago period.
The normative plant availability factor (NAPF) has increased from 82 per cent to 90 per cent in respect of Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station vide tariff notification applicable for the period 2014-19, it said.
The company further said that it has signed a project development agreement with Nepal Government for implementation of 900 mw Arun-3 Hydroelectric Project. It has also signed a pact with Hindustan Sales Ltd for Ultra Mega Hybrid Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat in December last year.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 26.20 apiece in afternoon trade, up 1.16 per cent from previous close.
