Solar panels to be installed in five sports complexes in Hry

Solar panels would be installed in five sports complexes in order to promote solar energy in the state, Haryana's Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij told the state assembly here today.
Vij was replying to a question raised on the second day of the Haryana Assembly's monsoon session here today.
The Sports Minister said that the department was getting solar panels fixed on the roofs of three big and two small sports stadiums at Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak, Panchkula and Narwana.
This would help save electricity and encourage the people of the State to install solar panels, he told the House.

Vij, meanwhile, also said that there was a proposal to construct 'Khel Suvidha Kendra' in all district sports complexes in the State.
Modern gymnasium, facilities for practice and audio-video labs would be set up for coaches and players in these centres.

Vij was replying to a question regarding steps taken by the Government for better performance of players raised in the assembly here.
The Sports Minister said that the Khel Suvidha Kendra would also have facilities like changing rooms, small and multi-purpose hall and canteen, among others.
He said that a state-level institute would be set up for sports development and physical fitness, for which a building would soon be constructed.

Besides, Sports and Physical Fitness Authority and Haryana Institute of Adventure Sports are being constituted, the Minister informed.
"There is a proposal to set up statutory sports councils at village, block and state levels. Apart from this, there is a provision of reservation in Class I and II posts for players who gave an outstanding performance at international level, and appropriate steps are being taken to promote traditional games like wrestling and kabaddi," he added.
