Khattar said this while speaking as the chief guest at the state-level function of 'Swachh Haryana-Swachh Bharat' Programme under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan organised at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) here.
Rs 1 lakh would be awarded to villages and wards where every house has completed toilets. Similarly, municipalities, municipal councils and corporations would be rewarded Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, respectively, he said.
Dairies would be established in one place outside the cities to maintain cleanliness while 'Nandi shalas' are being set up for stray animals in every district, the CM said.
He stressed that maintaining cleanliness was the responsibility of every individual, and people must start the process themselves.
Social institutions, markets, schools and various business institutions should discharge their responsibility to keep their surrounding environment clean, Khattar said.
The Chief Minister directed Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Navraj Sandhu to set up a separate website to spread awareness regarding the Swachhta Mission among people.
