Odisha government today announced that all Chief Ministers and Union Ministers, who will visit the state to attend the BJP National Executive committee meeting will be accorded state guest status.
"The Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and deputy chief ministers coming down to Bhubaneswar to attend the BJP's national executive meeting will be treated as state guests," an official communication received from the Chief Minister's Office said.
The BJP national executive committee meeting will be held on April 15 and 16 in Bhubaneswar which will be attended by prime minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and other top leaders.
As per the provisions, the visiting dignitaries will get lodging, security, transportation and other facilities as provided to the state guests, it said.
The Odisha Police have made elaborate security arrangements to provide full-proof security cover to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other visiting guests.
At least 100 platoons (3000 personnel) of policemen and two companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed in Bhubaneswar during Modi's visit, said Director General of Police (DGP), K B Singh.
For security reasons the entire area where the Prime Minister would stay or move during his two-day visit has been divided into different sectors and four IG rank police officers will remain in charge of these sectors.
These officers will be assisted by 15 SP rank officers and five units of Special Operations Group (SOG), the DGP said.
"The police will ensure that the whole event passes off peacefully without any incident. Four IG rank officers are camping there. All arrangements have been made at airport, residential area including hotels, Governor House where Prime Minister will be staying and the meeting venue," the DGP said.
An hour before the Prime Minister's visit to a particular area, that concerned area will be declared a 'no flying zone', the DGP added.
Stating that the Prime Minister's security arrangement is being made as per provisions in the 'Blue Book', Singh said arrangements are made in coordination with the Special Protection Group (SPG).
The police today held a security mock drill from the airport to Janata Maidan for the Prime Minister's visit.
