STF arrests notorious criminal

The Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh police arrested an alleged notorious criminal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, from Meerut district.
Arvind, the leader of 'Mirchi' gang active in western districts of the state, was arrested last night from Jagdamba hospital where he was undergoing treatment under a fake name for injuries suffered during an encounter with Aligarh police on March 31, IG, Law and Order R K Vishkarma said.
Arvind was wanted in about two dozen cases of loot and contract killing in Ghaziabad, Aligarh and Hapur, the IG added.
