units SFI and DYFI today held a joint demonstration at the foot of Kamaraj statue here urging the Centre to intervene and replace the Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University Dr Chandra Krishnamoorthy.
The demonstrators also condemned the frequent unleashing of police action against the University students who were agitating in support of their charter of demands.
They also stressed that a quota of 25 percent should be available in each of the disciplines in the University for students belonging to the Union Territory.
Saravanan of DYFI and Anand of the SFI were among those who addressed the participants.
